Here’s a story about a woman that went to what she thought was a respectable doctor for a hair transplant. After several hours and complications, she found out afterwards he is an Ob-Gyn with no formal training in hair transplantation. Don’t think that since it’s “cosmetic surgery” it’s no big deal and anyone can do it. Cosmetic surgery is real surgery with real consequences – good or bad. Remember to seek out a board certified plastic surgeon or a dermatologist for your hair transplant procedure. And also keep in mind that not every plastic surgeon or dermatologist does hair transplants (for example, even though I learned how to do the procedure in fellowship, I don’t do them in private practice) so be extra diligent in your research for a qualified doctor.
