I see it every year. There’s a mad rush to have cosmetic surgery from October through December so patients have time to recover during the holidays. But then the New Year comes and consumers have no funds left over for anything else.
People speak of New Year’s Resolutions and work out for a week or two but halfway through January we slide back into our rut of inertia. And so it goes with spending. As Americans, it’s hard to save our money for a rainy day because it’s always more fun to spend it when we get it.
So make this year different. Save some money so that when tax refund season comes around in March, you have a little more left over than you expected…and then you’ll have even more to spend!
