When it comes to cosmetic surgery, not everyone needs surgery. Take neck rejuvenation for example. Depending on the issues you’re having with your neck, a simple injection may be all you need.
Enter Meredith Vieira. Now, she’s a very attractive woman and doesn’t “need” anything but after seeing her fill in for Bob Costas during the Olympics telecast, I noticed her neck. As seen in the photo above, she has two “bands” extending from just under her chin down the front of her neck. These are called platysmal bands. Essentially, there’s one large sheet of muscle across the front of the neck called the platysma. Portions of the muscle can tighten into individual bands with age. But this is very easy to treat.
Botox, Xeomin or Dysport – also known as neurotoxins – can be used to paralyze muscles that cause wrinkles in the face, like the 11’s in between the eyebrows, forehead wrinkles or crow’s feet around the eyes. This is one of the most common non-surgical treatments in the world. And just as these injections can relax muscles in the face and minimize the appearance of wrinkles, Botox/Xeomin can also be injected into platysmal bands and make them disappear!
Now I don’t know if Meredith Vieira is even remotely interested in cosmetic treatments and while she may not appreciate my unsolicited comments, I really mean no harm. She’s attractive and if she’s ever noticed her platysmal bands in the mirror, now she knows she can get about 40 units of Botox/Xeomin injected into the bands and improve her neck’s appearance in 1-3 days with no downtime! Now who wouldn’t appreciate that unsolicited advice?!
Hope that helps anyone with a similar concern about their neck.
