Remember old photos from the 1800’s showing a woman wearing a corset to look thinner? Apparently, even with women making so much progress since the 19th century, you know with the right to vote and all, they may be picking up some old habits. I’m referring to waist training as it’s called now but it’s no different than those old-timey corsets!
As with anything that’s part of pop culture, the act of waist training has been rekindled with the Kardashians. That’s not to say it’s their fault or that they condone it. It’s just to say they’re mighty powerful in promoting anything simply by doing it themselves.
So what is waist training. By gradually using a corset to tighten the abdominal cavity and actually pushing organs in and up, you can achieve a thinner waist. It actually does work but you must continue wearing a waist trainer/corset for continued results. Compressing your organs can lead to feeling full soon after eating, heartburn, and shortness of breath. All of these symptoms can be eliminated once the waist trainer or corset is removed.
Considering this is the 21st century, you may consider a 21st century solution to make your waist narrower (or do nothing and keep your waist the way it is). With advances in technology, you can achieve a narrower waist with non-surgical fat reduction, CoolSculpting. Liposuction can also achieve a narrower waist, and more aggressively, but this requires surgery and an anesthetic.
